If you’re looking into furthering your education, you may be wondering if you want to take classes online (fully remote), on campus, or a combination of the two (hybrid). Fully remote learning involves students taking classes and completing assignments from home. Hybrid learning involves a blend of in-person and remote learning.

While both models – remote and hybrid – have their benefits and drawbacks, the question remains: which one is best for you?

Advantages of Remote Learning

Fully remote learning has become increasingly popular, giving you the flexibility to learn from the comfort of your space. Additionally, if you live far from your school, you can save time and money that would otherwise be spent on commuting.

Advantages of Hybrid Learning

Hybrid learning combines the benefits of both in-person and remote learning. With hybrid learning, you attend some classes in-person and complete others online. Some types of training are best taught through hands-on experience – and that’s where hybrid learning can make a big difference..

So, which model is best for you?

The answer depends on several factors, including your learning style, personal preferences, and circumstances. If you are highly self-motivated and prefer to learn at the comfort of your own space, fully remote learning may be the best option for you. However, if you thrive on face-to-face interaction and need the structure and support of a traditional classroom, hybrid learning may be the better choice.

More and more students are enjoying the convenience and flexibility of online learning, but taking courses online comes with its own unique set of challenges. Make sure you get the most out of your online education by following these helpful tips.

Create a schedule and stick to it

Create a calendar that not only includes the days and times of your classes, but also has all the due dates for upcoming assignments or exams (and set reminders for yourself). You’ll also want to set aside uninterrupted study time; it’s recommended that you plan to study or work 3 hours per week for every one credit hour the class is worth.

Don’t let distractions get in the way

One of the biggest drawbacks to online learning is that there may be more things to distract you from your work when you are at home. When you are taking class or studying, turn off the notifications on your phone and email, avoid social media, turn off the TV, and be sure to tell friends and family to respect your study time. Find a designated place to do your work that is distraction-free, quiet, and preferably has a door you can shut.

Be disciplined and engaged

Be sure to prepare for every lesson, attend all your virtual classes, and take active notes. Ask questions, involve yourself in class discussions, and consider joining online study groups for additional support. Remember, you are learning the information you’ll need for a successful career, so stay focused on your goal.

Practice self-care

People tend not to do their best when they are stressed out or exhausted. Be sure to get sufficient sleep, try to eat healthy, and take time for exercise, yoga or mediation to de-stress and revitalize. Take breaks when you are studying, avoid cramming and pulling all-nighters, and build some “me” time into your calendar so you don’t get burned out.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help

If you ever feel like you’re struggling to understand something or feel overwhelmed, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Talk to your school’s instructors, and academic advisors, they are all there to help you succeed. You can also talk to your fellow students – sometimes they can explain a concept in a different way that can help.

At , we offer a wide range of online healthcare programs that were designed specifically with you in mind. To learn more, visit our websitecontact us, or give us a call at (386) 267-0565.

If you’re interested in training to become a medical assistant, congratulations! Medical assistants are vital to keeping our healthcare system running smoothly, and provide valuable assistance to doctors and nurses, as well as providing care and support for patients. Here are four important things to consider when you are trying to decide which school is the best fit.

Does the school offer the kind of medical assisting program I want?

What type of medical assisting program are you interested in? If you want to go the fastest route, you should look at medical assisting diploma programs. If you want to invest a little more time and effort for additional employment opportunities, a Medical Assisting Associate of Science Degree may be the better choice for you. Also consider whether you want to attend classes in-person, online, or take a hybrid approach. Make sure the school you choose offers you the options you want.

Is the school accredited?

To be eligible to take your certification exam(s), you need to enroll in a diploma or associate degree program in medical assisting that is accredited. Program graduates at qualify for the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification exam, offered through the American Medical Technologists Association as well as the EKG Technician Certification (CET) and the Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) exams through the National Healthcare Association. These certifications can open the door to different career paths and opportunities.

Can I afford to attend a medical assisting program?

The good news is that attending a school to train to become a medical assistant is often affordable. There is a range of financial aid options available, including grants, loans, scholarships, federal aid and more. If you need help paying for school, check out ’s Financial Aid department, they will work with you to create a payment plan while attending school, or direct you to the appropriate organization that may be able to assist you.

Will the program prepare me for a career in the real world?

Make sure that the medical assisting program you choose provides you with valuable, hands-on experience in real-world settings so that you feel confident and prepared when you start your career. At , even if you attend our online classes, you’ll still get that hands-on experience during externships in actual medical facilities. Nowadays there are several different ways to learn. One of which is hybrid learning. You may be wondering what exactly hybrid learning is and how you can benefit from it. Hybrid learning – which has become increasingly popular since the pandemic – is a learning model that can offer a convenient, flexible and engaging way to learn. As the name implies, hybrid learning is a combination of traditional in-person classes with online/virtual classwork, giving you the best of both worlds. Many schools initially introduced hybrid classes to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure for students and faculty but have since discovered the many additional benefits that it has to offer. To determine if hybrid learning is right for you, we’ve found the top four benefits.

Greater flexibility and accessibility

Hybrid programs differ in the number and frequency of in-person classes you must attend vs. online classes. The commute to campus for class is less often as opposed to a fully on campus program. The online learning component, which allows you to take classes from anywhere, makes school more accessible if you live further away from campus. It also makes it more flexible if you have a busy schedule in which you cannot commute to campus as often.

Accommodates different learning styles

Everyone learns best in different ways. Some benefit from online instruction, where there’s an opportunity to rewind recorded lectures or go back and review slides to reinforce the material. While others may find working in-person with instructors and classmates is more engaging and provides a helpful hands-on experience. Overall, hybrid learning lets you learn in both ways.

Creates an independent work environment

A hybrid program can help you refine your time management and organizational skills to learn how to work effectively online. It can also provide the basic understanding of how to use distance learning technologies to efficiently stay on top of coursework and meet deadlines.

Includes hands-on training

Some things cannot effectively be taught solely online – and again, that’s where hybrid learning can make a big difference. A medical assistant, for example, would likely benefit from learning how to draw blood in a one-on-one, in-person interaction vs. learning about it through a lecture. Doing something yourself is often the best way to learn something new, so hands-on, in-person experiences are important to the learning process.

At , we know that students want to learn in different ways. That’s why we offer a wide range of healthcare and beauty and wellness programs to prepare you for real careers in the real world. We offer on campus programs, online programs, and a hybrid program. Interested in learning more? Visit our website, contact us at (866) 560-5499 or schedule a tour.

When it comes to getting an education, there are so many options, an Associate Degree, a Diploma, or a Certificate. All those options, along with deciding where, when, and what to study  – it can be difficult. When is the right time? What will you study? Where will you go? So many things to consider. You may be wondering what the differences are and how to choose the right program for your goals. Fortunately, we’ve got some answers to help you get on the career path that’s right for you!

Program Length

The first thing to understand about any program you’re considering is the time frame for completion. It’s also one of the main differences between the three awards. An Associate Degree program typically takes around two years to complete. For example, graduates of the Natural Health Program at earn an Associate of Science Degree upon completion of the 60-week program. Whereas, other Beauty & Wellness Programs at Daytona are 40 weeks long with graduates earning a diploma. The majority of diploma programs take one year or less. A certificate program often requires even less time to complete. One of Daytona’s Allied Health Programs – the Home Health Aide Program, earns you a certificate and consists of 75 contact hours and only 2.0 credit hours of instruction and clinical practice. In some cases, certificate programs enhance your existing skillset or to refresh your knowledge in a particular area.

Type of Institution

Another differentiator between the three awards is the type of institution each is offered at. Most traditional 4-year universities offer Associate and Bachelors’ Degree programs, as well as more advanced graduate degrees. These degrees are required for many professional fields. This differs from most technical and vocational schools, where skill-based training is more common and diploma and certificate programs more prevalent. (Although many technical schools also offer Associate and Bachelors’ Degree programs). In addition to the Natural Health Program mentioned above, also provides three other Associate Degree options in its Allied Health curriculum–Medical Assisting, Medical Billing and Coding, and Nursing. The programs offered at the Diploma level are for students who are seeking a faster track to earning.

Program Outcomes

Depending on what field you decide to pursue, the requirements for working in that field differ. For individuals seeking careers in professional roles such as teaching or law, the longer, more traditional university route is going to be their best option for success. But for skill-based careers in fields like Cosmetology, Practical Nursing, or Therapeutic Massage, a high-quality diploma program is a great choice. They can get you working in your chosen field much faster. It all comes down to what your unique goals happen to be for your career. No matter what career path you want, be sure to do the research and be aware of what kind of education will give you the best chance for success! And if you’d like to learn more about a career in the Beauty & Wellness or Healthcare industries, check out all the programs at . Contact us today for more information or to schedule a campus tour.
